How to Use an iPhone as a Magnifying Glass

Sometimes, it gets hard for a person with an improper vision to read things on the phone. Else, sometimes the content is too small or dark mode makes it hard to view or read. Luckily, the iPhone has an in-built ‘Magnifier’ feature that works the same as Magnifying glass.
A Magnifying glass enables you to see the data in a bigger version. You may also use your ‘Camera’ app on an iPhone and then zoom in and try to read or view the images, but a Magnifier has a lot more than that.
As mentioned above, people with sight impairments have issues viewing something on their phone; thus, Magnifier also has amazing impressive to overcome this.
Enabling Magnifier tool on an iPhone
The steps to enable ‘Magnifier’ tool on your iPhone are:
  1. Go to the ‘Settings’ on the home screen on your iPhone.
  2. Locate the ‘accessibility’ option from the list in the settings window.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Magnifier’ option and turn the slider on for the same.
Following the three simple steps mentioned above will enable the ‘Magnifier’ tool.
How to launch the Magnifier on your iPhone?
You can launch the Magnifier tool in your iPhone in two ways once you’ve enabled it from the settings. The two ways to launch the tool are the control center and using buttons of the iPhone.
  • Control center shortcut
To enable the Magnifier tool on the control center, the steps are as follow:
  1. Go to the ‘Settings’ on your iPhone.
  2. Locate the ‘Control Center’ tab and click on the same.
  3. Next, tap on the ‘Customize Controls’ option.
  4. A list of tools will appear that can be added to the control center. Tap on the ‘+’ icon in front of the ‘Magnifier’ to add it to the shortcut.
Once you add the Magnifier tool to the control center shortcut, slide upward on your screen to access the control center, if you have an iPhone with a home button.
For an iPhone without a home button, slide downward from top to bottom on your screen to access the control center.
  • Using buttons
If you have got an iPhone with a home button, press the button three times to launch the tool.
On the other hand, if you don’t have a home button on your iPhone, the side button does the job. Push the same three times to launch the Magnifier tool.
After this, Magnifier will launch on the screen of your phone.
Guidelines for using the Magnifier tool
After you launch the tool, you’ll notice that it has a similar setup as the phone’s built-in camera. Magnifier has various features to make your job easy and quick. Some of the features of the Magnifier tool are mentioned below:
  • Lock focus button: Using this feature will focus on one object when you tap on something and hold it there, despite the phone’s movements.
  • Light button: This feature is used for dark mode.
  • Freeze frame button: The image gets still with the help of this feature, and you can zoom in and out easily. You may also save/share these pictures with the help of ‘Save’ and ‘Share’ options, respectively.
  • Filter button: Setting brightness and other significant sets of features are entirely in your hand. You can work with the same as per your convenience.
To zoom in on an image, you can pinch on the screen or use the slider to do the same.
In case you’ve any issues regarding some details in your image, tap on the three-circles button on the bottom right of your Magnifier window, and it shall appear with color filters. Color filters enable you to change the colors of the image and transform it as you like. Tap on the same three-circles button to exit the color filter settings.
