How to Transfer Your Data from an Old iPad to the New One?

If you have recently purchased a new iPad running on iPadOS 14 and want to transfer all your data and old memories from your previous iPad to this one, then you are at the right place.

Previously we didn’t have options to transfer all-out data from an older device to the newer one. We had to rely on scratch, which was just like a painful task for most users, but thankfully Apple made the process easier. If you want to know the quick and convenient data transferring procedures, stick to this post from top to bottom. We are going to cover every step.

Using Automatic Setup for Data Transferring Procedure

Follow these easy to use instructions if you want to transfer your old device’s data using Automatic Setup:

  • First and foremost, choose the preferred language on your new device.
  • Keep both the devices nearby to each other.
  • After that, hit the Continue option on the pop up that appears on your screen. It will ask you to set up a new iPad using your Apple ID.
  • Now, take your old iPad for scanning the image that displays on the screen of your recently purchased iPad.
  • Now, input the password of your current iPad on your new device.
  • Then, set up Face ID or Touch ID on a new device.
  • Select your decision whether you want to restore your new device from the latest compatible backup or not if the option presents itself.
  • Select the appropriate option to restore a new device from your iTunes or iCloud backup. Set up as a new device and transfer your contents, file, or folders right from your older device.
  • Now, read the Terms and Conditions page carefully and then hit the “I Agree” option.
  • Go to the Express Settings section and then hit the Continue tab to use your Siri’s Settings. Now, check your Location, My iPhone, and other useful analytics previously transferred from your old device.
  • Next, you need to complete the setup process for the new iPad.

Using Mac to Transfer Data to Your New Device

Here are the steps to follow if you want to transfer your data to your newly purchased device:

  • First of all, connect your Mac to your iPhone.
  • Then, press the Finder from the Dock area to launch a new Finder screen.
  • Then, hit the iPad located on the sidebar section.
  • Press the mark-box located just after the option Encrypt Local Backup if you like to encrypt the particular backup.
  • Type a secure password if you desire to encrypt all your backups.
  • Hit the tab Backup Now and then wait for some time for the backing up process to finish.
  • Next, disconnect your old device.
  • Now, you have to connect your new iPad to the Mac computer to back up all your data.
  • After that, go to the sidebar and then press the new iPad option.
  • Press the tab located just after the option Restore from this backup.
  • Then, press the Backup option by navigating the pull-down menu.
  • Hit the Continue button there.
  • Pursue on-screen directions to complete the procedure.

Using iCloud for Transferring Your Data to a New iPad

Here are the steps to follow if you want to transfer your data from an old iPad to a new one:

  • First of all, launch the Settings app on your device.
  • Then, hit the Apple ID banner.
  • Now, press the iCloud tab.
  • Click on the iCloud Backup option.
  • After that, you need to tap on the Back Up Now option.
  • Once you have successfully backup your iPad, you will need to get started using your new iPad and restore your old device’s backup. Here’s how:
  • First of all, hit the Home tab on your new iPad to start the setup procedure.
  • Pursue the on-screen steps for the initial setup. If you want to transfer everything right from your older device to a newer one, you can use the Automatic Setup procedure to use iOS 11.
  • Hit the tab “Restore from Backup” to restore the recent iCloud backup while undergoing Automatic Setup.
  • Press the Agree option.
  • Complete the procedure by setting up your new device using location, Siri, app analytics, and Apple Pay setups.
  • Now, wait for a little, and after some time, you will find that your iPad is completely restored from iCloud backup. It could take a while to finish the entire procedure.

Once you have read all the above steps for transferring all the data from your old iPad to a new one, go ahead and follow any of these compatible methods that suit your preference: Automatic Setup, Using Mac, and iCloud. Follow the backing up instructions to restore your iPad from iCloud backup.
