Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek Film Revolved around the Character Kirk a Lot

Quentin Tarantino wanted to make a Star Trek movie, which might never happen.

However, it has been reported that he would have explored the character Captain Kirk
in the movie.

Quentin Tarantino, the director famous for directing films like “Django Unchained,” “Kill
Bill,” “Pulp Fiction,” and so on, wanted to make a film based on the world of Star Trek. It
has been reported now that the film would have relayed a story keeping Captain Kirk at
the helm of things.

The film will never be made despite the fact that the announcement was made in 2017,
and the script for the film has already been written by Mark L. Smith. His Academy
Award-nominated film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” has proved the fact that if
Tarantino wants to create an old pop-culture world, he very well can.
However, due to some reason, he will never get to tell the story of “Star Trek,” he so
desperately wanted to tell.

It has made some people sad because fans (including the cast and crew of the current
Star Trek franchise) were pretty excited about the project.

Mark L. Smith wrote the script for the canceled movie because of Tarantino’s obligation
towards “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” It became evident a while ago that both
Mark L. Smith and Tarantino had agreed to make Captain Kirk the leading character in
the film.

When William Shatner, who had played the character in the 1960s Star Trek film, heard
about the project, he wanted to be a part.
It has been reported that Tarantino’s idea of Captain Kirk was quite different from the
previous iterations. Captain Kirk was last portrayed by Chris Pine in the Star Trek
trilogy.

For now, it is clear that Tarantino is in no mood to make the film. However, fans of the
veteran director are quite interested to know what Mark L. Smith and Tarantino had
planned for the film.

Mark L. Smith did talk about the film in his interview with SFX. He explained in the
interview that though the film might not be happening, he enjoyed developing interesting
ideas about Captain Kirk with Tarantino. He mentioned Shatner’s version and alluded to
the fact that whilst Chris Pine played the character in the new iteration, he sort of
recreated the Shatner’s version as well.

The thing is that not only the future of Tarantino’s film is up in the air, but the entire
ongoing franchise is knocking on the doors of uncertainty. We do not know yet whether
we will see Chris Pine’s Star Trek 4. No development has been made, and nothing is
going on.

Anyways, Star Trek 4 is another matter of discussion. For now, we can only imagine a
Star Trek film made by Quentin Tarantino, and if the words of Mark L. Smith are
anywhere near the truth, then we would have seen an iconic adaptation of a Star Trek
film.

How to Turn off Automatic Windows Store Updates?

Automatic update is a decent function that enables you to keep your apps up to date without having to install them manually. But this feature may not be suitable for those who have a limited data plan. Thus, the users can opt for disabling the automatic Windows Store updates. So if you want to disable this feature, then follow the methods mentioned below.

Turn off Automatic Updates via Store Settings.

Hit the Windows and S combination over the keyboard to open the Windows Search.
Then insert ‘Windows Store’ in it and select the OK button to launch the Windows Store.
You should select the vertical ellipsis menu icon on the upper right side of the screen.
Thereafter, select the option of Settings.
Go to the tab of Home, switch the toggle of ‘automatic updates’ to disable it.
Now, you may turn it on again by switching the toggle to enable it.
Turn off Automatic Updates via the Local Group Policy Editor
Hit the Windows and R combination over the keyboard to open the Run prompt.
You should insert “gpedit.msc” in it and select the OK button to launch the Local Group
Policy Editor.
You should reach the setting by using this path: Computer Configuration\ Administrative
Templates\ Windows Components\ Store\
Go to the “Turn off Automatic Download and Install of updates“ and twice click on it to
invoke a new screen.
Now, click on the ‘Enabled’ option and select the OK and Apply buttons.
It will turn off the automatic updates for MS Store.
Turn off Automatic Updates via the Registry Editor
Hit the Windows and R combination over the keyboard to open the Run prompt.
Then input “regedit” in it and select the OK button to invoke the Registry Editor.
In case you get a User Account Control pop-up, hit the Yes button.
Once you get the screen of Registry Editor, go to the WindowsStore key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore
In case you cannot see the WindowsStore key, create one by right-clicking on the
Microsoft key.
After that, select the ‘New’ option and then pick the ‘Key’ option.
Go to the WindowsStore key and reach the right panel.
Now, right-click on it.
Then click on the ‘New’ option and pick the ‘DWORD (32-bit) Value’ option.
Now, name it “AutoDownload.“
In the “AutoDownload“ value, modify the data to 2.
Don’t forget to choose the base as Decimal.
Reboot the system to turn off the automatic updates of the MS Store.
