Alexa Care Hub: Connect and Track Your Loved Ones

In the last few years, Amazon has extended its reach from only being an online retailer to offering hardware. Now, like any other hardware company, Amazon also holds events to showcase and promote its original devices. At their recent fall event, Amazon launched a series of latest gadgets including new versions of Amazon Echo, a new service called Amazon Luna, and more. They have also announced a new feature on Alexa that will help you connect to your loved ones, and check on them from anywhere you want.

This feature is known as ‘Alexa Care Hub’, and it will create a connection between two people via their user accounts and set them as each other’s emergency contact. In case you need any help or vice-versa, the connected contact will be notified immediately. This can happen only when you say, “Alexa, call for help.” It is a far better option than running to another room looking for your phone and calling them. This feature will create an instant connection with the Echo’s far-field microphone.

After setting up the Alexa Care Hub, use an Echo device or any smart home connected device to gain access to a feed full of all the interaction you have had with your loved ones. Doing so will enable you to know the whereabouts of the connected contacts, and it will also let you see the room your loved one is using at the moment. You can even tweak and add a feature to get alerts when there is no activity on the other end, and you can add a specific time limit for alerts as well.

In a time when it is difficult to see your family and friends, the Alexa Care Hub will ensure that you and your loved ones stay connected without violating the safety measures. Although this experience is nowhere similar to seeing your people in person or making a video call, it will ensure your peace of mind. You might not be able to see your parents due to global health conditions, but you can keep a tab on them with this feature without worrying them, their health, and privacy.

You can rely on this feature as Amazon is quite experienced in making such gadgets and tools that will ensure safety and help you stay connected with people who matter to you. Still, if you are worried about the elders or senior citizens living all by themselves, then connect Alexa with some smart bulbs, plugs, and other smart home devices. It will make living easier and comfortable for the elders in your family. This will ensure that they don’t run into a wall while turning on the lights. They can trust on smart home devices for minor tasks.

Although Alexa cannot make emergency calls, it can call emergency contacts and let you know about your loved ones. No matter how many miles apart you live from your friends and family, Alexa Care Hub will surely bring you all closer.
