Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward recently introduces its share of dungeons and trials. Now players can walk through the entire trials with a lot of expansion’s dungeons during the path of expansion’s main story. However, in the expansion, there are few dungeons available that are optional. The optional dungeons and its similar unlock are marked with a blue color quest. It is still a mystery what these optional dungeons quests will offer after completing. So here is a proper guide to locate and unlock the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward’s optional dungeons.
The Dusk Vigil
The Dusk Vigil is optional, but this unlocks the quest “For All the Nights to Come” offers an “Aether Current” for “Coerthan Western Highlands.” Players are allowed to pick “For All the Nights to Come” quest from the “Wealdtheow” in “The Convictory.” The following quest will lead you to speak to Nadinie, who is an “Ishgardian knight” at Banepool. The Dusk Vigil is a level 51 dungeon that offers the Ishgardian loot.
Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum
It’s a level 60 dungeon, and it can be only available at one condition: if you finish the main story quest “Heavensward.” Get back to “The Dravanian Hinterlands” and interact with “Tetchy Treasure Hunter” to choose up “An Overgrown Ambition.” Treasure hunters can be located hanging out in the “Answering Quarter.” It will provide you with a task to storm the Arboretum and get the great treasure.
Neverreap
Neverreap is also a level 60 dungeon, but it can be unlocked if you complete the main story of Heavensward. Get back to the “Sea of Cloud” and choose “Reap What You Sow” from the Sanu Vanu at Ok’ Zundu. To unlock the quest of Neverreap, players have to go floating island–Neverreap. It is hard to reach there on foot, so make sure you get there through flying. Neverreap offers a “Baldur weapon” and “Valerian armor.”
The Great Gubal Library (Hard)
Move to the “Idyllshire” after completing “Heavensward” and talk to Midnight Dew to choose the “Let Me Gubal That For You” quest. The hard version of the Great Gubal Library is complicated.
Pharos Sirius (Hard)
It is available on level 60 dungeons, so you have to unlock the Pharos Sirius, complete Heavensward, and move to Limsa Lominsa Upper Deck to choose “Things Are Getting Sirius” quest from Trachaet. This following quest will unlock the Pharos Sirius (Hard) that will award Thief, Plague, and Duelist set.
The Lost City Of Amdapor (Hard)
Unlock and finish the “Lock City of Amdapor,” finish the Heavensward and then move back to the Old Gridania. There you need to talk with E-Sumi-Yan at “Conjurer’s Guild” to choose “One More Night in Amdapor.” In the quest, you need to clear the Lost City one more time. The Lost City Amdapor (Hard) will reward Dravanian loot. Players can also earn the Kuribu Triple Triad and Morpho minion card after defeating the final boss.
Hullbreaker Isle (Hard)
Talk to the “Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks” once you finish the Heavensward and Hullbreaker Isle the first time to choose “Storming the Hull” quest. Hullbreaker Isle (Hard) will reward Panegyrist, Berserker, Prophet, Viking loot.
Conclusion – The story mode of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is reasonably interesting, but it does not provide some hidden rewards. Players have to play in hard difficulty to unlock some additional rewards. There isn’t much difference available in normal and hard difficulty, but the opponent becomes too aggressive while playing hard.
