5 Google Meet Features That Zoom Doesn’t Have

We mostly use Zoom for meeting online. It’s reliable and very simple in use. But Google Meet offers us some features that Zoom doesn’t. Here are five features that Google Meet has but Zoom doesn’t.
Transcription and Real-Time Caption
Google has been providing us services like Google Voice and Google Assistant. These features are really amazing and make Google way ahead in voice transcription technology. Google Meet offers voice transcription technology in real-time. So, whatever you speak while you are in a meeting, you will get a voice transcript for every word. Though the transcription is not 100% accurate, it manages to transcribe the voice close enough to what you speak.

The Real-time Caption feature of Google Meet is really impressive; it makes the conversation clearer. Zoom offers a closed-captioning system, but someone has to type the captions manually.
Low-Light Mode
Now, almost every smartphone’s camera has Low-light Camera mode technology. This tech helps us click good pictures even in low light conditions or in a dark room. Google Meet is optimized with the same technology, which is really fantastic for late-night meetings or just places with bad lighting. This is really an advanced feature that Google Meet offers, and it works pretty well. This feature is only available on mobile devices, and according to Google, soon you can see this feature on computers too.
Start a Meeting By Typing “meet.new” in your Browser
To start meetings, just search “meet.new” in your browser, and you will be directed to the Google Meet. It is really a very convenient feature that makes the video conferencing service quick. Some users may not consider it one of the best features, though you can use this feature to start your video conference quickly on Google Meet.
Browser Extension
Zoom is a desktop app that you need to install to start a meeting, but Google Meet runs in your browser. It depends on you what you prefer. Some people prefer desktop applications to the browser. Zoom has also made some changes as you can run it in your browser too.
If you run Google Meet in the browser, you can use a third-party extension that adds some additional features. Meet Enhancement Suite is a third-party extension that can add some of the best features of Zoom to Google Meet. There are many third-party extensions that can be used to add extra features to Google Meet, such as:
Tactiq: It can comply with your captions and create a transcript of your meeting.
Nod: It can add emoji reactions to the calls.
Google Meet Call Timer: It adds a timer to the Google Meet calls.
Time Limit
Google Meet allows you to make unlimited calls with no call limits, but Zoom will enable you to make unlimited calls with 40 minutes of a time limit. It means if you are using Zoom, your meeting will end automatically if it crosses a 40 minute time limit. But, Google Meet does not have this restriction.
We don’t say that you should not use Zoom. It is your choice which service you choose to attend your meetings. This article is only intended to share information with you about these extra features of Google Meet. We hope you liked this article.
