How to Manage the Notifications on macOS

Just like smartphone devices, Mac also works with a notification which is quite helpful for Mac users. Whenever you receive any important information or meeting details, it comes through notification. Sometimes notifications can be part of distraction also, and this happens when you are working on something important, and notifications keep disturbing you. So there is both a positive and negative impact on the user. It is possible to control the notification if you are getting disturbed or annoyed.
Well, a piece of good news for you is that managing the notification is pretty easy so you can adjust the settings as you want. You can choose the notification about how you want them to appear. Even if you don’t want to receive the notification, this is also possible, and you will not be notified. Even if you want to disable the notification of messages, emails or even alerts, it is completely reasonable.
How to Temporary Pause the Notifications
  1. Tap on the icon on the corner of the right side of the menu bar to access the notification centre.
  2. Slide up and turn on the “Do not Disturb” option on the top side. It will pause the notifications until midnight.
  3. While doing it, you can see the received notifications in the notification centre, but you will not receive any alerts.
  4. Schedule a Period Until You Won’t Receive Notifications
  5. Tap on the Apple icon on the top corner side of the menu.
  6. Choose the “System Preference” option.
  7. Launch the “Notification.”
  8. Choose the “Do not Disturb” option.
  9. Now enable the following mode and set up the time. You can also enable it when you are going to sleep, and until then, the display will sleep as well.
On the mirroring screen mode or when the display of your device is locked, you can use do not disturb mode as well. You can also allow the device if you want to receive the calls while on do not disturb.
How to Switch Notification Off or On for an Individual App
  1. From the notification centre tab, you can also manage the notification for the apps.
  2. Look for the app that you want to use in the left side column in the notification window.
  3. Use the following toggle to switch it on or off.
  4. If you can also change the notification looks. There are additional options available in the notifications such as what to show when screen is locked or to make sound.
Now, these options are simply available in mostly one section which does not disturb. Most of the notifications can be disabled when you turn on the DND mode. It’s a great mode, and you can use it as you want and also as per your preferred time period. It can be used in automatic methods or and also in manual processes. Do not disturb by default stop the alert of calls and messages and even alerts. But if you want to target some specific users that are important and their text is necessary, you can put them in your favourite category. You have total control on notification alerts, and the way you want to access it all depends on you.
