  1. Go to the ‘Photos’ app on your device.
  2. Tap on the three-lined icon on the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. Select the Settings’ option from the pop-up menu.
  4. Click on the ‘Backup & Sync’ option.
  5. Turn the slider on for ‘Backup & Sync.’
  6. Make sure that Backup Mode is adjusted as ‘High quality.’

How to Restore Data on Your New Android Device?

  1. Select the language of your device and hit the ‘Start’ button.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network or skip the step for now.
  3. A ‘Copy apps & data’ window will open. Click on the ‘Next’ option at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select ‘A backup from an Android phone’ option in the next window.
  5. Click on the ‘Next’ option to start transferring the data.
  6. Click on the ‘Next’ option again to continue.
  7. A ‘Verify your phone’ page will open flashing the number of your phone’s model.
  8. Grab your old phone and go to the ‘Settings’ app.
  9. Locate the ‘Google’ tab and click on the same.
  10. Click on the ‘Set up & Restore’ option.
  11. Select ‘Set up a nearby device.’
  12. A ‘Getting Started’ page will open. Click on the ‘Next’ button.
  13. Your phone will start searching for nearby devices. Establish a connection between the two devices by following the on-screen instructions.
  14. Confirm the screen lock of your old device by clicking on the ‘Next’ option.
  15. A ‘Copy to your new device?’ page will open. Tap on the ‘Copy’ option.
  16. Your account will start copying.

Meanwhile, a sign-in window will open on your new device flashing all the registered Google accounts. Follow the steps to continue restoring the data:

  1. Enter the details of your Google account and sign-in.
  2. Double-check the screen lock of your old phone to verify the data transfer.
  3. A ‘Choose what to restore’ page will open. If you want to restore everything from your old phone, hit the ‘Restore’ button at the bottom of the screen.
  4. If you don’t want to restore everything, uncheck the apps you don’t want on your new device.
  5. Tap the ‘Restore’ option.

Further, you can follow the on-screen instructions, and it may take up to an hour to restore all your content. So, sit and relax while your new device gets ready to use.
