Pokémon Go: How to Catch Emolga for Unova Week

“Unova Week” is globally live on Pokémon Go, and now players have the opportunity to catch some Generation V Pokémon. In the event, Pokémon Go is focusing on offering Generation V Pokémon. “Emolga” is a rare Pokémon that was introduced in Generation V, and in the current Unova Week, Pokémon Go is offering it. Emolga is a dual Electric/Flying-type Pokémon that is inspired by flying squirrels of the real world. Even though Emolga is not a strong Pokémon, players still want it because of its cuteness and to register in Pokédex. The chances of seeing Emolga in the wild are still very low, but there are some sorts of ways that can increase the odds.

You can get Emolga by hatching 7km eggs. To get 7km eggs, you need to open the gifts that you receive from friends. If you are lucky, you can get Emolga in a 7km egg. However, there are more Pokémon available in 7km eggs, including:

  • Woobat
  • Cottonee
  • Minccino
  • Pidove
  • Sewaddle
  • Darumaka

The popularity of Emolga is above the average. Even though Emolga cannot evolve in any other Pokémon, players can still use it in the battle. Electric Pokémon are strong against the flying and water-type Pokémon. The max CP of Emolga is 1633 that could be helpful in “Great League” matches. Players can use Emolga in the great league if it is below 1500 CP. The “Quick Attack” as fast move and “Discharge” as charge move of Emolga can give significant damage.

Trainers can hatch eggs and use incense to increase their chances of encountering Emolga. If a trainer uses incense, they will encounter many more types of Pokémon in the wild, along with Emolga. Indeed, every trainer knows that Emolga is a rare Pokémon, so they are doing their best to get one to register in Pokédex.

Not every player will get the Emolga in the Unova Week, but this is not going to be an issue for the majority of players. The reason is, Emolga is not very helpful in big battles. It can defeat Water and Flying-type Pokémon, but it’s weak against Grass, Electric, Dragon, and Ground-type of Pokémon.

The great thing about Pokémon Go is that trainers can trade Pokémon with each other. If trainers live close to each other and one has multiple Emolga, that trainer can trade it. Trading is a great way to transfer Pokémon to friends, but for that, players have to be in 100m distance. Trading cost low stardust and candies when both trainers have registered the trading Pokémon. If any trainer doesn’t have Emolga, they can register it by trading. In this condition, they have to spend a bit higher amount of stardust and candies because it is considered as “Special Trading.”

Conclusion – In Unova Week, several impressive Pokémon appear in wild and eggs. Some Pokémon are weak in their first form, but their evolution form turns them extremely strong that can be used in more significant league battles and raids.
